Sliding Shower Screens Made for Compact Bathrooms

A sliding shower door stays inside the shower footprint when it opens. Nothing swings out into the room, so the door never clashes with a vanity, toilet or nearby wall. That makes a sliding shower screen a practical fit for compact bathrooms, ensuites and tight layouts where a hinged or pivot door does not have the swing-door clearance it needs.

We install sliding shower screens in apartments, townhouses and family ensuites where space is limited and a swinging door would block the basin, toilet or entry path. Sliding shower doors are useful in these layouts because they move sideways along the track, keeping access clear in a narrow space. All of our sliding shower screens use a two-door sliding system.

Choose your layout

Sliding Shower Screen Configurations

We custom-make every sliding screen to suit your opening. For better access, a minimum width of around 1400mm is required. The right configuration will depend on your shower layout, and these are the three we build most often.

Corner Sliding Shower Screen
Corner Sliding Shower Screen
Built for corner showers and tight ensuites, where the entry sits across the corner of the room. The sliding panels keep access clear even when a vanity or toilet limits the space a swinging door would need.
Wall-to-Wall Sliding Shower Screen
Wall-to-Wall Sliding Shower Screen
Built for a recess between two walls, with one panel sliding across a fixed panel. A minimum width of around 1400mm is required for practical access, which we confirm during the on-site measure.
2-Door Sliding Shower Screen
2-Door Sliding Shower Screen
Built for a wider recess, with two panels that both slide so the opening can be entered from either side. This design needs a minimum opening of around 1400mm, which we confirm during the on-site measure.

Custom Fit for Out-of-Square Walls

Bathroom walls are rarely perfectly square, which is why we measure on site rather than work to assumed dimensions. Our sliding systems allow jamb adjustment to take up wall variation, so the screen lines up cleanly against finished tiles.

Hardware & glass

How Our Sliding Shower Screens Are Built

A sliding screen has to glide smoothly, seal well and keep doing both with regular use. That comes down to the hardware, glass and fit, so here is what goes into ours.

6mm Toughened Safety Glass

Every screen uses 6mm toughened safety glass, cut and processed to your measured opening. Toughening makes the glass far stronger than ordinary glass and safer if it ever breaks.

Full-Length Magnetic Seals

Full-length magnetic seals run down the closing edge so the doors meet cleanly. On corner sliders, bulb seals are also used where needed to close gaps along the base and sides.

Dual Roller Carriages with Stainless Steel Bearings

The doors run on dual roller carriages fitted with stainless steel bearings, which carry the weight of the glass and keep the slide smooth and quiet.

Quick-Release Rollers

The rollers release quickly so the doors can be lifted out for cleaning, then dropped back onto the track. This keeps the track and rollers easier to clean over time.

Purpose-Designed Sill

A purpose-designed sill sits at the base and directs water back into the shower recess rather than letting it track out across the floor.

A sliding shower screen is built to manage normal shower spray, not to seal like a tank. How well it contains water also depends on the bathroom layout, the seals, the floor fall, where the screen sits and professional installation, which is why we measure and fit every screen ourselves.

Finishes

Frame Colours and Glass Options

7 Frame Colours and Finishes

We finish our semi-frameless sliding screens in 10 frame colours, so the screen suits your tapware, tiles and overall bathroom scheme: Bright Gold, Satin Gold, Bright Silver, Matt Silver, Nickel, Black, White, Gunmetal and Matt Gold. Black and Gunmetal are popular choices for modern bathrooms and pair well with matching tapware.

For glass, our sliding screens use 6mm toughened glass, with a choice of Clear, Opti, Satinlite, Frosted and Tinted to suit the privacy and look you want. Glass is cut, processed and toughened at the Brisbane glass plant, then the screen is custom-built at our Nerang factory. You can compare the full range of shower screen glass and protective coating options before your measure.

Why Us

Why Choose REGAL for Sliding Shower Screens

A sliding screen depends on accurate measuring, smooth operation, good seals and the right configuration for the room. We control those steps from the first measure to the final fit, so the screen is built to your opening and installed by the team responsible for the finished result. Our semi-frameless sliding shower screens on the Gold Coast are measured, custom-built and installed by REGAL.

Measured and Built to Fit

We measure on site and build to your opening, so the screen suits out-of-square walls and the real space, not a standard size.

Hardware That Lasts

Dual roller carriages on stainless steel bearings, quick-release rollers and full-length magnetic seals keep the doors running smoothly and easier to clean.

Installed by Our Own Team

The same business that measures and builds your screen also fits it, so the finish and the operation are our responsibility, not a subcontractor’s.

Fixed Price Before We Start

You get a same-day fixed quote after the measure, with 6mm toughened glass and a choice of 10 frame colours, and no surprises once work begins.

Compliance

Safety, Standards and Professional Installation

Every sliding shower screen we build uses 6mm toughened safety glass, made to comply with AS2208 and AS1288, the Australian Standards that cover safety glass and its use in buildings. Toughened glass is far stronger than ordinary glass, and if it ever does break, it breaks into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards.

Australian Standards

Our glass is 6mm toughened safety glass made to comply with AS2208 and AS1288, so the screen meets the safety requirements for glass in a wet area.

Sliding Shower Screens Gold Coast Wide

We measure and install sliding shower screens across the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Brisbane, working from our base in Nerang. Wherever you are, the screen is measured at your property and built to that exact opening, because a sliding screen depends on getting the real space right: the opening width, how square the walls are, the clearance around the vanity or toilet, the floor fall and the access into the room.

That is why we do not quote sliding shower screens over the phone from a standard size. A free on-site measure lets us check all of it first, so the doors run cleanly and the screen sits square once it is in. If you are still comparing styles, you can also browse our full range of shower screens on the Gold Coast before you book.

FAQs

Sliding Shower Screen FAQs

A sliding shower screen is one of the better choices for a small bathroom, because the door slides along its track instead of swinging out into the room. That keeps the door inside the shower footprint, so it will not clash with a vanity or toilet. We measure the space on site and recommend the configuration that suits your layout.

The cost of a sliding shower screen depends on the opening size, glass type, frame colour and configuration. As a guide, a 900×900mm semi-frameless sliding screen in clear glass starts from around $1,250. This is an indicative price only, subject to an on-site measure and quote. All prices include supply and install, with no separate installation fee.

The main trade-off with a sliding screen is that the bottom track or sill needs a wipe-down now and then to stay clean. Our quick-release rollers make that easier, because the doors lift out so you can clean the track properly. Correct seals and a proper installation keep everything running smoothly over time.

The opening you need depends on the configuration. A 2-door slider generally needs a minimum opening of around 1400mm, while corner and wall-to-wall sliders suit a range of smaller openings. We confirm what works for your bathroom during the free on-site measure, so you are matched to a configuration that fits the real space.

We offer three main configurations: a corner slider for corner showers, a wall-to-wall slider for recesses between two walls, and a 2-door slider for wider openings. Each one is custom-measured and made to suit your opening, so the screen fits your bathroom rather than working to a standard size.

A properly measured and installed sliding shower screen contains normal shower spray well, but no shower screen is a sealed tank. How well it manages water comes down to the full-length magnetic seals, bulb seals where used, the floor fall and the layout. We measure and fit every screen ourselves so these all work together.

A sliding shower screen will perform best when it is measured correctly, installed properly and cleaned regularly. Our screens use 6mm toughened glass and rollers on stainless steel bearings for daily use. They carry a 2-year warranty, with 12 months on moving parts such as rollers and seals.
