What We Build

Built-In Wardrobes, Walk-In Robes & the Doors That Close Them

We design and manufacture custom built-in wardrobes for Gold Coast homes, along with walk-in robes and the sliding wardrobe doors that close them. Everything is made in our Nerang factory and installed by our own team across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Tweed Heads.

Most local suppliers handle one half of the job. Some build the cabinetry, shelving and drawers. Others supply the doors. We build both and coordinate the whole install — so the dimensions, finishes and hardware all line up the first time.

That means the same team measures your room, manufactures the wardrobe, and fits it. No subcontractors, no second supplier, no finger-pointing if something needs adjusting on install day. If you want mirror sliding doors, glass sliding doors or Hamptons-style panels on the front of your built-in, we make those too — and we factor them into the design from the start.

Choose Your Format

Built-In Wardrobes and Walk-In Robes

We custom-make wardrobe formats, and the choice usually comes down to the application, the wall length you have to work with, and how much storage you actually need. Built-in wardrobes for bedrooms are the most space-efficient option for standard layouts. Walk-in robes give you a small dressing room with hanging and shelving on three walls.

Built-In Wardrobes Gold Coast

Built-In Wardrobes

Built-in wardrobes — also called built-in robes or inbuilt wardrobes — sit against an existing wall, fronted by sliding or hinged doors. The cabinetry, hanging and shelving stay hidden behind the doors, keeping the bedroom open.

They suit master bedrooms, kids’ rooms and guest rooms across most standard layouts. Wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling builds use every centimetre, including the dead space flat-pack systems leave above.

The internal layout is drawn around what you own — long-hang, double-hang, drawer banks and shoe storage sized to your collection. Doors can be any of our seven types, from full-mirror sliders to MDF and Hamptons profiles.

Walk-In Robes

A walk-in robe — or walk-in wardrobe — is a small dressing room with hanging space, drawers and shelving on the perimeter, so all your clothing stays on display and easy to access. The minimum practical footprint is around 1.5m wide × 2m deep.

Walk-in robe fit-outs across the Gold Coast and Brisbane usually involve perimeter shelving on three walls, with hanging zoned by height — long-hang on one section, double-hang on another, drawers and folded shelving in between.

We custom-build around the room dimensions, ceiling height and how you actually get dressed, suiting new builds, master suite renovations and larger Gold Coast and Brisbane homes.

Built-in wardrobes make the most of a standard bedroom, while walk-in robes need the floor space to work as a dressing room. For a fuller comparison of the two formats, see our built-in robe vs walk-in robe guide.

Storage Configurations

Inside Your Wardrobe

The inside of a bedroom wardrobe is where the configuration matters most. We design the layout around what you actually own and how you use the room — long dresses get long-hang, suits and shirts get double-hang, folded knitwear on either fixed or adjustable shelves. Every internal layout is drawn on the on-site measure and finalised with the same-day quote.

Hanging Space
Long-hang for dresses and coats. Medium-hang for jackets. Double-hang for shirts and pants — twice the storage in the same width. We configure heights around what’s in your wardrobe today.
Drawers
Choose from the standard drawer system or upgrade to soft-close. The standard system handles everyday use, while soft-close adds a quieter, smoother finish to every open and shut.
Shelving
Adjustable shelves for folded jumpers, bags and stacked storage. Fixed shelves where structural support matters. We set heights and depths around the items you’re storing.
Shoe Storage
Lower shelves provide extra space for your valued shoes — sized to keep pairs visible and easy to reach, while freeing up the upper shelving for clothing and folded storage.
Sliding Doors

Wardrobe Door Options

The doors are part of the same job — designed, manufactured and installed alongside the wardrobe so the dimensions, hardware and finishes all line up. We make seven door types in our Nerang factory, from mirror and glass through to MDF and Hamptons profiles. For the full range, specifications and finish options, see our sliding wardrobe doors page.

Service Area

Where We Install

We service the Gold Coast as our primary area, with regular built-in wardrobe installations across Brisbane and Tweed Heads as well. Our team travels from the Nerang factory, so most of South East Queensland is within range — from the Tweed Coast in the south through to most Brisbane metro suburbs in the north.

As Gold Coast wardrobe builders manufacturing locally in Nerang, we keep travel time tight across the service area, which means quicker measure bookings and faster install scheduling.

If you’re outside the typical service area or building somewhere unusual, get in touch, and we’ll let you know straight up whether it’s a fit. For Brisbane homeowners specifically, our work as wardrobe builders across Brisbane and the Gold Coast covers what to expect when the team is travelling for the measure and install.

Applications

Where Built-In Wardrobes Work Best

Built-in wardrobes aren’t only for bedrooms. We design and install them across most rooms in the house, sized and configured around the use. The factory build process is the same — what changes is the depth, the internal layout and the door choice. For a fuller breakdown of room-by-room ideas, see our guide on built-in cupboards for every room.

Master Bedroom

Full wall-to-wall builds with double-hanging, drawer banks, shoe storage & much more.

Kids’ Bedrooms

Lower hanging rails to suit shorter clothes, more shelving for folded items and durable vinyl or melamine that handles daily use.

Guest Rooms

Slimmer footprints with a balance of hanging and shelving. Often paired with sliding doors to keep the room feeling open between visitors.

Walk-In Dressing Room

Perimeter shelving and hanging on three walls, with optional  drawer & shelf towers, lower shoe shelf and much more.

Linen Cupboards

Adjustable shelving sized to standard sheet folds and towel stacks. Fitted into hallway alcoves or dedicated linen rooms.

Hallway Storage

Floor-to-ceiling cupboards built into hallway walls. Custom-depth to suit the corridor without narrowing the walkway.

Home Office

Storage walls behind sliding doors, hiding files, printers and equipment when the room doubles as a guest space.

FAQs

Wardrobe FAQs

Common questions from Gold Coast homeowners about built-in and walk-in robes.

The cost of a built-in wardrobe depends on the size of the space, the internal configuration, the board finish, the door choice, and extras like soft-close drawers. As an indicative industry guide, a basic fitout with shelving and hanging rails sits around $1,000 to $3,000, while a mid-range build with drawers, custom internals and upgraded doors usually falls between $3,000 and $7,000. Larger or fully custom configurations cost more again. These are general industry averages rather than REGAL prices, because two wardrobes the same width can cost very different amounts depending on what goes inside. We give you an exact figure after measuring on-site, with a same-day fixed quote before manufacturing begins. Book a free measure to get a fixed price for your room.

Around 60cm internal depth for hanging clothes — that gives standard hangers clearance from the doors without catching. Shelving and drawer-only sections can run as shallow as 40cm. We design the depth around the actual room and what’s going inside, so the full cabinetry footprint is sized to suit.

We supply and install every job. There’s no flat-pack option, no supply-only option and no DIY kits. Installation is by our own team — the same people who measured and quoted the job. That keeps accountability in one place if anything needs adjusting on install day.

A free on-site measure is usually booked within a week of the first call, with the same-day  quote provided at the measure. From quote acceptance, manufacturing and installation typically run 4–8 weeks depending on the size of the wardrobe and the door selection & our current lead time. We confirm timing before you sign off so there are no surprises.

Yes. Sloped ceilings, narrow alcoves, wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling installs are all custom-made on-site. The measure picks up obstacles like skirting boards, cornices, switchboards and out-of-square walls, and the design adapts around them. Most “awkward” rooms become straightforward once the dimensions are taken properly.

Melamine is the most common choice for wardrobe fit-outs across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Tweed Heads. It holds up well in our humid coastal conditions, resists everyday knocks and scratches, and comes in a wide range of finishes. We build every wardrobe to suit the room, so we match the board and finish to how you use the space and to the doors you choose. We confirm the full specification at the free on-site measure.
